A Dude with a weight complex

12 / 27 / 11 || 161 lbs   - Yep, I actually put on weight ! :(

It’s been 8 days since I started this blog, and I have not been doing well…. at all. I’ve been exercising a little, but as everyone says the most important part about losing weight is eating healthy… and over the christmas period, I definitely have not been eating healthy.

Its too easy to use that as an excuse though. If I wanted to say no, I could easily have done it…. but I am weak, and chose to indulge. I hope I can turn this around for the new year. I think being on my own again will help me, as I wont be tempted to drink, or eat out. I can regulate my own meals and eat what I want.

Times like this I wonder if I’ll ever be happy with myself :|

my first run

Generally, I do not run as I have really flat feet and running always causes my archs to flare up :(    my sister in law recently told me to try running with my toes first, which just seems weird… but I gave it a go, and what do you know!!!  NO PAIN HOORAY <3

So I went for my first morning run, and wow am I unfit…. Maybe it was the cold as well, because I can usually run on the elliptical for ages. But this time I only managed to run for about 15 minutes before I was winded. Either way, I will be progressively running for longer and longer, till I can be one of those people that run into town, without breaking a sweat.

Came home, did crunches, pushups and jack knifes.

My one vice? The family went out for dim sum, and yep. I gorged myself on the delicious azn dumpings… OM NOM NOM   /selfhate

Going on a massive following spree. Reblog if you are a weightloss blog!

Goals - keeping them simple and achievable

Okay, Christmas is officially over. Now to map out some achievable goals so I can a) work off the christmas food and b) hit my goal weight (still don’t know what this is)

1. Drink water constantly throughout the day, and cut out all carbonated drinks.

2. Zero alcohol,  while in the house.

3. Do 3 sets of 20 crunches daily, attempt to increase reps by 5 every week.

4. Eat small serve of oats for breakfast

5. Cut down on carbs throughout the day

6. No snacking, for snackings sake!!!

7. No food after 8pm

8. Try to get a healthy amount of sleep, when I wake up in the middle of the night. Do not give up sleeping and hop on the lappy!

Set your alarm for 6am. Don’t groan when it goes off and pull the covers over your head, get up and start your day. Put on a baggy top and running shorts. Go downstairs and pour yourself a nice big glass of ice water. Cut up some fruit and mix it in with yogurt. Add some granola. Now go outside. Stretch for 10 minutes. Skip for 5 minutes. Jog for 10 minutes. Run for 10 minutes. Walk back. Lay out a towel on the ground and lie down on it. Do 50 crunches. Yes, they hurt, but they are 100% worth it. When you’re done, get in the shower. Use a nice smelling shampoo and matching conditioner. Shave your legs and wash your body. Exfoliate your face. Get out of the shower and let your hair air dry. Look in the mirror. Do you like what you see? If you do, good for you. Do this every day and you will continue to love yourself. If you don’t like what you see, do this every day and pretty soon you will. Being lazy might feel good at the time, but being active feels better in the long run. How badly do you want it?

I dare you to start making changes today. Do not be lured into the new year scheme. That’s putting off your goals to a future date, which is already setting up to fail. Start today, what’s different for a whole new day than a new year? The other dare I have for you. Start a list of small daily changes you want to make. NOT the drastic goals (like a 10lb Wt loss),but small goals. This is like eating a certain number of fruits and Veg, going to the gym, eating less this, and more that. Getting more sleep. Etc! List in order starting with the most important or with the smaller steps. Don’t try to fix them all at once. Focus on the first for a few days, when you feel like you’ve been successful, move the second for a few days, when doing well, repeat to the next number. Only move on when you’ve felt like your making progress on the prior number. I swear by this. Because this focuses on changing lifestyle habits which are what truly makes a difference to the overall goals. Starting now will put you at more chance of success for the new year! Love you gals. Thanks for listening to my late night thoughts/post Christmas day binge. Stay strong girls, love, skinnyminme

SO. I’m just going to pretend the last two days didn’t happen and work my ass off tomorrow at Gym.

Wow.

I feel ill.

But Christmas is only once a year and I had an amazing time with my family.

So no regrets.

Looking forward to kickstarting 2012 and finally achieving my goal of attaining a toned, lean body.

ITS GIZMO!!!!
